PVC Patches for Hats: Worth It Over Embroidered Ones?

Цитата

Hi everyone,

I'm putting together a batch of custom hats for our team and I'm stuck on the patch type. I always assumed embroidered patches were the standard for caps, but I keep seeing PVC hat patches mentioned, and they look very different, with a raised, rubbery finish and really sharp detail.

Before I order, I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually used them:

  • How do PVC patches hold up on hats over time? Do they crack, peel or fade in the sun and rain?
  • Are they better than embroidered patches for fine detail like small text and thin logo lines?
  • What's the best way to attach them to a cap: sew-on, Velcro or heat-applied? Does heat damage the hat fabric?
  • Do they feel comfortable on structured caps and snapbacks, or are they stiff and awkward on softer hats?
  • How do they cope with washing, especially if the hats get sweaty?
  • Is the cost noticeably different for small custom runs compared with embroidery?

I'm also wondering if PVC suits every style. I like the waterproof, modern look for outdoor and streetwear hats, but I'm not sure it works for something more classic or corporate.

If you've tried both types, I'd really like to hear which one you'd choose again and why. Photos are very welcome too!

Thanks in advance.
